Most of us have to work, and we spend a huge chunk of our lives at our jobs, so finding one you actually enjoy going to every day is ideal. While you can research companies and businesses, hearing from the people who actually work there will give you the best idea what it’s like, and that’s what the “USA Today Top Workplaces” awards do.
- The winners for 2026 have just been announced, revealing the best businesses to work for, according to the employees themselves.
- Energage and “USA Today” surveyed employees of 2,375 organizations and companies nationwide, getting feedback on factors including pay and benefits, direction and leadership, meaningfulness, and appreciation.
- Each of the workplaces has at least 150 employees and they’re broken down into four categories based on staff size.
- Number one for 2026 is Fannie Mae, a mortgage lending company based in Washington, D.C.
- Another mortgage company, Fairway Home Mortgage Corp, comes in second, followed by Plante Moran, a certified public accountant and consulting firm.
- Fannie Mae, Fairway Home Mortgage, Plante Moran and Progressive Insurance were also in the top five workplaces of 2025.
