If you're hitting a Super Bowl party this weekend, there's a good chance you're doing this . . .
TheTopicalFruit.com did a big rundown on the best and worst numbers to have in "Super Bowl Squares". That's where everyone buys squares on a big board. The score at the end of each quarter decides who wins money.
You normally don't get to pick your numbers . . . unless the person running it doesn't know what they're doing. So it's more about knowing whether to be psyched or bummed about the numbers you end up with.
The best numbers to get in general? 0, 3, 7, and 4. Winners are based on the LAST number in each team's score. With touchdowns, field goals, and extra points, the math just works. Those four numbers happen more often than others.
The worst numbers? 2, 5, 8, and 9. The chances of a score like 15-19 are low. So, having the 5/9 square isn't ideal.
The five best SQUARES to get are: 0/0, 7/0, 0/7, 3/0, and 0/3. The five worst squares are: 2/2, 5/5, 2/5, 5/2, and 8/8.
