It’s Apple’s turn for their year-end wrap up report. The tech company just came out with their year-in-review, sharing the most-downloaded free apps of the year for both iPhones and iPads.

Any guesses as to the top app for iPhones in 2025? It’s not Instagram or YouTube, it’s actually ChatGPT.

• Some folks are already using it multiple times a day, but for anyone who’s not sure what it is, the chatbot was developed by OpenAI and it creates text, speech and images in response to user prompts.
• Chat GPT is credited for boosting the AI boom and bringing a lot of attention to artificial intelligence.
• Apple also shared the most-downloaded free apps for iPads this year, with YouTube, ChatGPT, Netflix snagging the top three spots.
