Baby name trends come and go, but parents’ love for Noah and Olivia isn’t fading yet. They’re once again the most popular baby names for 2025, according to new research from BabyCenter. The parenting site has been reporting on the top baby names since 2004 and has just come out with their list of the most popular boys and girls names of the year.
- BabyCenter’s report is based on their proprietary name data, sourced from more than 350-thousand babies born in 2025 to parents registered on their app.
- "Because names are submitted in real time, BabyCenter is able to spot emerging trends before the Social Security Administration releases its annual list," the site explains.
- While the most popular boy and girl names are the same as last year, there have been a few changes on both sides.
- For girls, Eliana and Aurora join the top 10 for the first time. But that pushes two other names down, with Ava dropping to number 11 and Luna to 13.
- There were fewer moves on the boys side and the top five names remain exactly the same as last year.
- The biggest change in boy names is that Luca rejoins the top 10 after dropping down in 2024, bumping Leo to number 11.
- The top 100 girl names list has a few newcomers, including Juniper, Oaklynn, Sienna, and Eloise. And for boys, Malachi, Ali, and Arthur have joined the top 100.
