*LIST* The Best U.S. Cities For Foodies

Lots of people now consider themselves “foodies,” a term used to describe anyone with a passion for gourmet dining. But it’s more than enjoying upscale restaurants, true foodies find enjoyment in eating everywhere from home kitchens to street food trucks. These days, their passion can be pretty pricey, but some culinary hotspots offer options that are both budget-friendly and delicious. A new report highlights the most affordable destinations for food lovers.

  • WalletHub’s new ranking of the Best Foodie Cities in America has just come out for 2025.
  • They rated 182 U.S. cities on 28 key indicators of foodie-friendliness, including everything from the cost of groceries to the number of food festivals per capita to the affordability and accessibility of high-quality restaurants.
  • Based on all that, this year’s best city for foodies is Miami, Florida. It was also number one last year and it gets high scores for leading the country in the availability of affordable restaurants rated at least 4.5 stars out of five.
  • Miami has 13 Michelin-starred restaurants to choose from, and is home to the third-most farmers’ markets and butcher shops in the country.
  • But it can be expensive, landing the city at 156th for affordability.
  • At the bottom of the list is Pearl City, Hawaii, making it the worst city for foodies, followed by Lewiston, Maine, and Moreno Valley, California.
