An eleven-year-old girl in San Antonio, Texas, is being recognized as a hero after saving her mother during a medical emergency on Interstate 10. While driving near the Boerne Stage Road exit last month, Jenna Lester began experiencing tremors, heart palpitations, and blurry vision before seizing and briefly passing out. Her daughter Krista Lester called 911, gave dispatchers precise location details, and even put the family’s car in park when it began rolling.
San Antonio firefighters arrived quickly, taking over Jenna’s care and moving the truck to safety. Lieutenant Kevin Zigmond praised Krista’s composure, saying he was amazed by her ability to stay calm and help both her mother and first responders. Firefighters also arranged for someone to check on Krista’s brother, Kaleb, who was home alone at the time.
Earlier this week, the family reunited with the crew who helped them and Krista was surprised with a gift honoring her heroic actions. Now fully recovered, Jenna says she’s deeply grateful for both her daughter and the firefighters.
