There’s still plenty of time to pull your 12-foot skeleton out of the garage, but Halloween is slowly creeping up on us. While we embrace the end of another summer, DoorDash has just come out with their Tricks, Treats and Trends report, highlighting the most popular candies and the old school sweets crawling back from the dead this year.
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups still held the crown as America’s favorite Halloween candy last year, it was number one in 14 states.
- But based on recent fall orders, DoorDash has a new pick for 2025’s top treat: Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Creme.
- Some old school candies are enjoying a return from the grave, including the iconic 90s Baby Bottle Pop, with orders spiking 641%.
- Other nostalgic treats are making a comeback, like Warheads (up 114%), Lemonheads (up 118%), the classic lollipop Dum-Dums (up 101%), Bit-O-Honey (up 117%), and Necco Wafers (up 48%). And the ultimate “grandma candy” - Strawberry Bon Bons - are back, with orders soaring more than 600% this year.
- Surprisingly, raisins, the “treat” kids dreaded getting in their trick-or-treat bucket most, were a popular order during Halloween week last year, surging 522% from 2023.
- But the increase in raisin sales may not have led to more “tricks” on Halloween. It seems holiday pranks may be a thing of the past, as orders for eggs and toilet paper didn’t spike as high as they do most years during Halloween week last year.
