When it comes to real estate, buyers may want big kitchens or finished basements, but the real star of the show is still “location, location, location.” This year’s hottest housing markets show that buyers are still willing to pay for the right spot, especially if it’s in a suburb with easy access to a major metro. A new report is out letting us know the spots where homes are getting the most attention… and moving the fastest.
- Realtor.com just released their annual “America’s Hottest Zip Codes” rankings, which are based on two factors: how fast homes sell and how often listings are viewed.
- The hottest zip in the country is 01915, Beverly, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston.
- The median listing price in Beverly is $746-thousand, with homes selling in just 16 days on average.
- Seven of the top 10 zips had median prices above the national average, but six were still cheaper than their metro areas.
- Suburban zips near major metros (Boston, New York, D.C.) dominate the list, offering space and commute access.
- Homeownership rates averaged 75.2% in these zips—nearly 10% above the national average.
