Whether you can’t stop sipping the newest Spindrift sparkling water or have hopped on the dirty soda trend, it’s probably fair to say that most Americans have a favorite soft drink. These days the soda aisle has more options to choose from than ever, reminding us just how many people prefer bubbly beverages over still ones.
But which ones are the most popular? New research from Power Brands cracks open the preferred brands across the country.
- The beverage company analyzed Google Trends data to find out the most popular sodas in each state.
- There are regional and some single-state favorites, like Welch’s in Wyoming and A&W Root Beer in Iowa, but the number one brand is definitely not a surprise.
- Coca-Cola is the most popular soda brand in the country, landing at number one in 14 states overall, mainly in the South and Midwest.
- Dr Pepper comes in second, as it’s the favorite in nine states, most of which are in the Midwest.
