It’s no secret that being a working mom can be tough, but dads don’t always have it easy either. While many fathers aren’t the sole breadwinner anymore, those with jobs to help support their families have their own challenges to deal with. But it turns out, some places are better for those parent providers than others and new research reveals where they are.
- Just in time for Father’s Day, WalletHub’s new list of the Best and Worst States for Working Dads is out.
- They compared each of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. on 22 key indicators of friendliness towards working fathers, in areas like work-life balance, health and social-well-being.
- States were ranked on factors including childcare costs, average length of workdays for males, and the share of men in good health.
- Based on all that and more, Massachusetts wins for best overall state for working dads.
- It’s number one for work-life balance, child care and health, and number six for economic & social well-being. Washington, D.C., second overall, is number one for that category.
