Rethinking your summer travel plans because of a tight budget? You don’t have to stay home and miss all the fun with the family, you just need to be smart about where to go. “U.S. News & World Report” is here to help us save serious money with their list of the Best Cheap Family Vacations for 2025.
- They ranked popular getaways in the U.S. based on traveler feedback, editor analysis, and factors like sights, value and accessibility.
- Their number one pick? Yellowstone National Park, where a vehicle with a whole family can get in for just $35.
- While hotel rates in the area are highest in the summer, the park is home to “highly-regarded campsites” that are “relatively cheap.”
- Second on the list is Yosemite National Park in California. Entrance passes there are good for seven days, so the family can have lots of time to enjoy the park’s hiking trails, waterfalls and more.
- Gatlinburg, Tennessee, known as “the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains,” is third. Families can enjoy all the hiking, biking and sightseeing there, along with low-cost attractions like the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway and the Gatlinburg Space Needle.
- The kids will really love number eight on the list, Wisconsin Dells, a city in the southern part of Wisconsin known as the “Water Park Capital of the World.” It’s home to Noah’s Ark Waterpark, the largest outdoor waterpark in the U.S., as well as Mirror Lake State Park.
