After having lost all of their team’s gear in the Eaton Fire, the Pasadena High School football team received a surprise visit from a local NFL player bearing gifts. Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly, donated 60 brand-new uniforms to the Pasadena High team. The players cheered as Stafford announced the donation at their team banquet on Wednesday.
Pasadena High’s football team had a memorable season, winning its first division championship in 91 years. Just weeks later, the Eaton Fire erupted on January 7th, destroying equipment and affecting some players' homes. Stafford acknowledged the hardships the team has faced and says he hopes their donation will help get them excited about the game again.
At the banquet, players got to meet Stafford, take photos with him, and pose with his Lombardi Trophy. The Rams quarterback said he’s committed to giving back to the community he calls home. In addition to the gift to Pasadena High, the Staffords are also donating 150 uniforms to the Pasadena Panthers youth football teams.
