Every spring, the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) shares the latest data on the top 10 most popular baby names in the country. It doesn’t change much from year to year, and the 2023 list, which just came out, is no exception.
- Olivia holds onto the number one spot on the girls list, for the fifth year in a row.
- On the boys side, Liam tops the list.
- There is one new name on the list this year, Mateo, comes in at number six, up from 11th in 2022.
- The SSA also reports the “fastest-rising” names of the year. For boys, they’re Izalel, Chozen, Eiden, Cassian and Kyren.
- The fastest-rising girls' names are Kaeli, Alitzel, Emryn, Adhara and Azari.
