The way we smell is pretty important when it comes to being sexually attractive to a partner, just maybe not in the way we expect. According to one study, 62% of people claim they would choose a partner based on smell, more than physical appearance. And 58% of them said they’d actually break up with someone if they didn’t like the way they smell.
But before you go spritzing on your favorite cologne or perfume in an effort to appeal to your love interest, a new survey of 2-thousand daters reveals it’s not always the nice smells that get them going. Quite the opposite, in fact, as 74% admit they’re sexually attracted to a “weird” smell.
- The most popular “bad” smell is a partner’s feet, which 68% claim turns them on.
- Actual body odor - like underarm sweat - is a total turn on for 59% of daters.
- And 39% admit they actually enjoy their partner’s morning breath.
- While 81% agree the smell of cigarette smoke gives them the ick, vaper’s breath is sexually attractive to 37% of those polled.
- A quarter (26%) confess to being aroused by the scent of dirty underwear.
- And the last surprising smell that turns people on? The smell of their partner’s farts, which 18% say they actually love.
