I'm very happy and excited to be a part of the first ever ZANEIAC FUNDRAISER on behalf of the March of Dimes! The event is Friday March 23rd at Fantasia in North Haven from 6pm-11pm.
Zane is an adorable little boy who was born 14 weeks early! OVER 3 MONTHS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE! I just happen to know his mom Ashley who was so excited to become a first time mom...so you can imagine how nervous she was when the little man decided he was done baking inside his mom's breadbasket and pop out before he was done cooking! Zane was born weighing less than 2lbs and it was very much touch-and-go for Ashley and her husband Ben for an entire month! Can you imagine not knowing how your kid would turn out for that long? Every day must of felt like a year!
Thankfully, any issues Zane has because of his premature birth are minimum but he will face challenges as he grows. We need to raise money for more research to prevent as many premature births as we can. Premature births and complications from premature births are the NUMERO UNO cause of baby deaths in the United States. We gotta work on that! You wouldn't take your lasagna out of the oven before it was ready, right? Thankfully lasagna doesn't have a mind of its own like the human body does!
This year, Zane and his parents have been chosen to be the ambassador family for the March of Dimes in New Haven. Tickets are $60 for adults (18+) and that includes dinner plus unlimited wine and beer (woot woot!) Kids tickets are $50. They get no beer and no wine.
