Meet the CT Humane Society's Adoptable Pet of the Week: Peanut

This week's Pet of the Week is Peanut! Isn't she adorable?

Precious Peanut is a five-year-old brindle terrier mix. She arrived in late October as a surrender.

With lots of love from the pawsome CHS staff, Peanut is ready for a family to love in 2025.

She will do well in a home with children over ten who are gentle and respectful of pets. Peanut has quite the personality! She is fun-loving, energetic, and cuddly. She enjoys being pet and brushed like a true queen diva. She loves to go on new adventures and is quite the social butterfly, capturing the hearts of every human she meets. This sweet girl is very excited to meet new people and will need to continue her training to help manage her excitement, but with the right training plan she'll do great! Peanut loves to go on car rides and feel the wind in her fur! She also loves to go hiking in the woods and chew on a nice Nylabone after her walk. It is her favorite part of the adventure.

While she has not had much experience with cats, Peanut will do well in a home with a dog-savvy feline. She would love to share her home with another dog who can match her rough-and-tumble play style. Personable Peanut loves attention and will do well in a home where someone is with her all the time. While she loves going on adventures, she also has a couch potato side. She loves to lounge and cuddle with you all day!

This sweet girl is ready to fill your heart and home with so much love! If you're interested in Peanut, she is available in Waterford. In order to best serve pets in CHS' care and to efficiently serve the community, the Waterford location is operating on an appointment-only schedule and adoptions for pets at these locations will begin online via online application.
