Renee's Adoptables: Meet Lynx!

Meet Lynx

Twelve-year-old Lynx is a happy senior pit bull mix that is looking for a family that will provide him with a comfortable retirement home to live out his golden years. Lynx arrived at CHS back in March after the passing of his owner.

The family that Lynx is looking for must have experience with large breed dogs, as Lynx is sixty-two pounds! Lynx is wagging his tail at the thought of sharing a bond with adults in a single-family home, with condos considered. He will also do best with children over the age of twelve who are gentle and respectful of pets. While he loves being a couch potato, he also has moments where he gets bursts of energy, and will need a home where he can get plenty of exercise every day. The family that falls in love with Lynx must have experience owning a dog before and be prepared to handle his medical needs. Lynx may have some special needs, but he certainly has plenty of love to give.

Lynx is currently available as a show and hold. This means that he is ready to interview potential families, but will still need a little more time with the doctors before he is ready for adoption.

About CT Humane Society

Way back in 1881, a Hartford High School senior named Gertrude O. Lewis wanted to find a way to help animals of Connecticut. She gathered support in her community – including some of Connecticut’s most prominent citizens of the time – and that very same year, Gertrude founded the Connecticut Humane Society.

And all these years later, the work continues. CHS is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, serving thousands of pets every year. As an independent nonprofit organization, CHS does not receive any funding from the government and is not associated with any national animal welfare groups. The pets rely solely on the generosity and support of donors and volunteers.
