We spoke with Mary Ellen ("Mel") Kosturko, Chief Nursing Officer from Hartford HealthCare (HHC), and Erika Escalante, second year scholarship winner in nursing school at Quinnipiac University.
Erika was awarded the first Hartford HealthCare Nursing and Health Sciences Equity Scholarship, which was created in light of HHC's commitment to make financial investments in identifying, recruiting and attracting students to Quinnipiac from minority and underrepresented populations through Hartford Healthcare-backed scholarships. HHC is dedicated to growing and retaining healthcare professionals in Connecticut while aiming to diversify the workforce.
