Meet Maureen!
Maureen is a sweet, loving beauty who cannot wait to find her forever family! Maureen is a shepherd/lab mix with a beautiful black coat. She is 1 year 10 month old and is considered a large-size dog with long lanky legs and weighs about 61 lbs.Maureen is a young, energetic, and active pup. She likes to run and play at playtime and loves to fetch balls. She also enjoys long walks with her people. She is very sweet and gets along well with other dogs and kids, although she has not yet met a cat. She would thrive with an active family who would take her on hikes or long walks and play fetch with her. This sweet, playful pup will be a great companion for a dog loving owner. Maureen needs a strong and dependable owner with the time to invest in training a highly intelligent and loyal dog. She is so very willing to please. Just needs someone to ask. Currently, Maureen is working hard on her crate and leash skills. She is also house trained. She also knows the commands sit and stay and is working on down and come. She has just beginning her education but has the capacity to learn so much more. Could you be the person to teach Maureen the ways of the world? About Dog Star Rescue
Dog Star Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, is a dog rescue organization based out of the Hartford CT area. We work closely with shelters in the South as well as New England states to save the lives of loving and loyal dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row. Our team of wonderful volunteers get these adoptable dogs the medical and emotional care they need so they can transition into a loving forever home. To date we’ve placed over 4,000 dogs with new families.
All of our amazing volunteers are unpaid and donate their time because of their passion for helping dogs. They spend significant time each week helping guide dogs to a wonderful new life. If you ask our volunteers, they’ll tell you they do it for a wide variety of reasons, including personal satisfaction in helping address a nationwide problem, their love of dogs, and a desire to have fun socializing with like-minded people. Dog Star is always looking for new volunteers to join our group, so if you would like to be a part of our organization, please check out our Volunteer Opportunities page.
