Today in Connecticut, the gas price average is $3.42 per gallon, which is up 10 cents from last week. According to AAA, this unfortunately happens this time of year. When spring hits, summer blend fuels make their debut at gas stations. Be sure to pay attention to gas prices in your area before you head out on an excursion.
According to AAA, this bad news does not only affect drivers, but the economy overall. Since everything we consume typically comes on a truck, the higher prices at the pump end up hurting everyone in the form of higher prices for anything we buy.
Until prices go back down, having a plan to get gas at a more affordable local station prior to heading out or before you return home can help save a lot of money in a pinch. Alternating between two cars can also help alleviate the cost of a fill up if you have that ability.
