MEET AMOS!
Good with dogs
Good with children
The name Amos means to carry on and that is what sweet Amos is doing with his life. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Amos started out a little timid and shy. With some attention and love, Amos is now an attention loving, melt in your arms awesome dog. Amos is a 2 year old black and white short haired beagle mix. Amos is at his full grown weight of 19 pounds, making him a small size dog.
Amos enjoys the company of children and other dogs. He has not met any cats yet, so it is unknown how he will be with them. Amos is always up for a neighborhood stroll with his family. However, it is important to remember that Beagle mixes tend to be curious. Keeping Amos on a leash or in a fenced in yard will help prevent Amos from going on an unsupervised adventure.
His house, leash and crate training are all in process. The perfect family for Amos is one that has the time and patience to provide this training and learn alongside Amos. With his happy and attention loving personality, consistent training will help Amos become the wonderful family member he longs to be.
Are you ready to carry on with his life mission of having the family life he is searching for? Then please continue reading to make his dreams come true.
The adoption fee for Amos is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today.

About Dog Star Rescue:
Dog Star Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, is a dog rescue organization based out of the Hartford CT area. We work closely with shelters in the South as well as New England states to save the lives of loving and loyal dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row. Our team of wonderful volunteers get these adoptable dogs the medical and emotional care they need so they can transition into a loving forever home. To date, we’ve placed over 4,000 dogs with new families.
All of our amazing volunteers are unpaid and donate their time because of their passion for helping dogs. They spend significant time each week helping guide dogs to a wonderful new life. If you ask our volunteers, they’ll tell you they do it for a wide variety of reasons, including personal satisfaction in helping address a nationwide problem, their love of dogs, and a desire to have fun socializing with like-minded people. Dog Star is always looking for new volunteers to join our group, so if you would like to be a part of our organization, please check out our Volunteer Opportunities page.
Dog Star Rescue, Inc. is a grass-roots effort started by a group of dog lovers with experience in the rescue world. What’s the meaning behind our name?
The name Dog Star comes from the common name for the star Sirius, reflecting its prominence in its constellation, Canis Major (Greater Dog). The symbolism of the star as a guide to a safe passage is what we strive to do for our adoptable dogs as we find them a new life with a loving family.
