Dream Big with CHET!

Renee DiNino chats with Jared Newman, Director of 529 College Savings at Fidelity Investments takes time to remind you about this incredible opportunity for students K - 12!

Participants are asked to submit an entry based on specific grade-level topics. Students can submit an original essay, video or artwork (painting/drawing or illustration):

  • K-4th grade: What is something you could do to make your community or neighborhood better?
  • 5th-8th grade: What is something you could do to help make the lives of others better?
  • 9th-12th grade: What is a lesson you've learned and how will it influence your future?

It’s time to Dream Big! The CHET 529 Dream Big! Competition launched August 1. The Competition is sponsored by the Connecticut State Treasurer’s Office as Trustee of the Connecticut Higher Education Trust (CHET).

This year’s competition theme aims to inspire students by asking younger students to answer a question about improving their communities, and older students will be asked to describe a lesson they’ve learned and how it will influence their future.

And each school that is represented by at least one student’s entry will be eligible for a random drawing for a technology prize worth $7,500. A total of 10 schools will win a technology prize. The competition began on August 1 and runs through 5:00 p.m. on November 6.
