Renee's Adoptables: Meet Carnation!

MEET CARNATION

Flowers have a way of brightening you day and making you smile. They have a presence all their own. The same can be said of the sweet rays of sunshine known as Carnation and Orchid.

At just a bit over three months old, these adorable Australian cattle dog mixes are a joy to interact with. It is the closest thing to walking on sunshine as you can get. Carnation sports a black and white coat with the most soulful eyes on the planet. He is currently 23 pounds and is expected to be a large size dog when fully grown. Large dogs range anywhere from 50 to 100 pounds. Watching him grow up and establish his roots will be a wonderful experience for Carnation as well as his family.

Joyous days are filled with lots of love and there is always a welcome mat for all kinds of friends. Carnation is a social boy and will do well with other dogs, children and even cats. He is a boy that loves everyone! If you spend any time with this cutie, play will be on the agenda. He will love lots of time running around and exploring. Inside the house or out in the yard, Carnation always has a plan for adventure.

It is best to start any learned skill with baby steps. It starts with patience and consistency in training and lots of determination. Carnation is making his way in learning his house, crate and leash training. It will take some time, but he knows he will make it to the finish line with all his hard work.

As with all puppies, Carnation is full of curiosity and wonderment, and is ready to grow from adorable puppy to amazing dog with the right guidance and patience. He will need a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to train and socialize him so that he can become the perfect lifelong companion.

Having a Carnation every day is truly a blessing. We guarantee this wonderful boy will brighten your day and you will be glad to have his presence with you as a wonderful canine companion.

The adoption fee for Carnation is $600. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees.

About Dog Star Rescue:

Dog Star Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, is a dog rescue organization based out of the Hartford CT area. We work closely with shelters in the South as well as New England states to save the lives of loving and loyal dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row. Our team of wonderful volunteers get these adoptable dogs the medical and emotional care they need so they can transition into a loving forever home. To date, we’ve placed over 4,000 dogs with new families.

All of our amazing volunteers are unpaid and donate their time because of their passion for helping dogs. They spend significant time each week helping guide dogs to a wonderful new life. If you ask our volunteers, they’ll tell you they do it for a wide variety of reasons, including personal satisfaction in helping address a nationwide problem, their love of dogs, and a desire to have fun socializing with like-minded people. Dog Star is always looking for new volunteers to join our group, so if you would like to be a part of our organization, please check out our Volunteer Opportunities page.

Dog Star Rescue, Inc. is a grass-roots effort started by a group of dog lovers with experience in the rescue world. Learn about our organization’s mission, along with our reasons for adopting a rescue dog and information about some of our current volunteers. To check out our recommendations for other companies and services that love dogs almost as much as we do, see our Friends of Dog Star Rescue page.

What’s the meaning behind our name?

The name Dog Star comes from the common name for the star Sirius, reflecting its prominence in its constellation, Canis Major (Greater Dog). The symbolism of the star as a guide to a safe passage is what we strive to do for our adoptable dogs as we find them a new life with a loving family.
