About Halfway Home Rescue:

Halfway Home Rescue Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of hundreds of abused, abandoned, and homeless animals each year; locally and beyond. We provide spay/neuter and other veterinary care to each animal that passes through our doors. Our phones ring 24/7 and we try our best to keep up with the calls, as space and finances allow. No one takes a salary. Since our founding in 2004, more than 5,000 lives have been saved.

Most of the animals that come to our rescue have suffered lives of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Often times we have no knowledge of the exact history when they enter our rescue. Our volunteers work with every dog or cat as much as needed, providing medical care and emotional love. Our goal is to place each animal in a home that most suits each animal's needs.

How Did HHR start…

Halfway Home Rescue began as a small organization, focusing on Trap/Neuter/Return of feral cats, as well as socializing and adoption of friendly kittens. Over the past decade, the economic changes have caused many people to face unemployment, foreclosure, and unforeseen circumstances. Therefore increasing the need for organizations like ours. Due to the increased volume of animals in need, there is also an increase expenses for basic essentials; such as food and veterinary care. To offset these costs, volunteers hold small fundraisers throughout the year including T-shirt sales, benefit night at local restaurants, pet food drive, bake sales, and comedy night events.
