Renee's Adoptables: Meet Divinity and Kevin!

DIVINITY

  • Good with cats
  • Good with dogs
  • Good with children

Sweet, sweet and sweeter! If you have a sweet tooth that goes beyond your dessert plate than may we invite you to have the pleasure of meeting this adorable Chihuahua/Dachshund mix litter named after candy. At three and half months old, these cuties are primed and ready to find a home to call their own.

Our girl Divinity is dreaming big and with all the stories she hears on what a blessing a forever family is, she is ready to steal the spotlight. She is around 13 pounds and will grow big and strong. It is estimated that she will be a medium size girl (up to 50 pounds) when she is fully grown.

We are pretty sure if you look up social, you will find a picture of Divinity as a prime example of the word. Divinity enjoys the company of other dogs, children and cats. She is a fun gal that will love each and every opportunity to enjoy play, adventure and company. Exercise your belly rubbing hand, because Divinity will roll over for lots of them. After lots of playtime, Divinity would love snuggling while you binge watch your favorite show.

All of her house, crate and leash training are in process, and she will need the assistance of her family to help her to make it to the finish line.

As with all puppies, Divinity is full of curiosity and wonderment, and is ready to grow from adorable puppy to amazing dog with the right guidance and patience. She will need a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to train and socialize her so that she can become the perfect lifelong companion.

There is lots of love headed your way when you bring our girl into your home. Divinity will be the cherry on top to make your family complete.

The adoption fee for Divinity is $600. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees.

To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today.

KEVIN

Good with dogs

  • Good with children

Kevin is a 1-year-old hound mix with a handsome black and white coat and soulful eyes. He is a medium-size dog, weighing in at 48 lbs.

Kevin gets along with everyone. He enjoys the company of other dogs and kids, but unknown with cats! Kevin has medium energy and would love to cuddle on the couch after some running and playtime. He especially loves chewing, so tough chew toys are a necessity.

This boy gets the trophy for his success in crate and leash training, as he is trained in these two important skills. His house training is in process, but patience and consistency from his owner will help him become a pro at this skill, as well.

Kevin would love to join a family who will continue to provide him with proper training and plenty of socialization. He's also hoping for lots of play, exercise, and love!

The adoption fee for Kevin is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees.

About Dog Star Rescue:

Dog Star Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, is a dog rescue organization based out of the Hartford CT area. We work closely with shelters in the South as well as New England states to save the lives of loving and loyal dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row. Our team of wonderful volunteers get these adoptable dogs the medical and emotional care they need so they can transition into a loving forever home. To date, we’ve placed over 4,000 dogs with new families.

All of our amazing volunteers are unpaid and donate their time because of their passion for helping dogs. They spend significant time each week helping guide dogs to a wonderful new life. If you ask our volunteers, they’ll tell you they do it for a wide variety of reasons, including personal satisfaction in helping address a nationwide problem, their love of dogs, and a desire to have fun socializing with like-minded people. Dog Star is always looking for new volunteers to join our group, so if you would like to be a part of our organization, please check out our Volunteer Opportunities page.

Dog Star Rescue, Inc. is a grass-roots effort started by a group of dog lovers with experience in the rescue world. Learn about our organization’s mission, along with our reasons for adopting a rescue dog and information about some of our current volunteers. To check out our recommendations for other companies and services that love dogs almost as much as we do, see our Friends of Dog Star Rescue page.

What’s the meaning behind our name?

The name Dog Star comes from the common name for the star Sirius, reflecting its prominence in its constellation, Canis Major (Greater Dog). The symbolism of the star as a guide to a safe passage is what we strive to do for our adoptable dogs as we find them a new life with a loving family.
