Renee's Adoptables: Meet Elvis!

Elvis is in the building or rather the state of Connecticut!!!

This sweet an adorable boy is ready to rock and roll straight into the heart of his forever family. He is ready to grace all of your social media pages with lots of pictures and videos. Elvis is a one-and-a-half-year-old Labrador retriever/shepherd mix and this large boy weighs 57 pounds.

Elvis is an entertainer, and he enjoys entertaining himself as well as others. Friends play a big role in his life as he enjoys the company of children 14 and over, and other dogs. He is a master of fun and loves to play. He has not been introduced to a cat while in rescue so it is unknown if he would be accepting of a feline companion.

All of his house, crate and leash training are in process. With patience, time and continued training, Elvis will rock all three skills. He knows that he will have the support from his forever family to assist him along the way.

Elvis will thrive in a home that provides structure with regular exercise, continued training and lots of fun socialization.

With his good looks and great personality, Elvis is sure to be a star attraction.

The adoption fee for Elvis is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees.

To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today.

A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours.

To help speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.

About Dog Star Rescue:

Dog Star Rescue, a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, is a dog rescue organization based out of the Hartford CT area. We work closely with shelters in the South as well as New England states to save the lives of loving and loyal dogs who have lost their way and find themselves on death row. Our team of wonderful volunteers get these adoptable dogs the medical and emotional care they need so they can transition into a loving forever home. To date, we’ve placed over 4,000 dogs with new families.

All of our amazing volunteers are unpaid and donate their time because of their passion for helping dogs. They spend significant time each week helping guide dogs to a wonderful new life. If you ask our volunteers, they’ll tell you they do it for a wide variety of reasons, including personal satisfaction in helping address a nationwide problem, their love of dogs, and a desire to have fun socializing with like-minded people. Dog Star is always looking for new volunteers to join our group, so if you would like to be a part of our organization, please check out our Volunteer Opportunities page.

Dog Star Rescue, Inc. is a grass-roots effort started by a group of dog lovers with experience in the rescue world. Learn about our organization’s mission, along with our reasons for adopting a rescue dog and information about some of our current volunteers. To check out our recommendations for other companies and services that love dogs almost as much as we do, see our Friends of Dog Star Rescue page.

What’s the meaning behind our name?

The name Dog Star comes from the common name for the star Sirius, reflecting its prominence in its constellation, Canis Major (Greater Dog). The symbolism of the star as a guide to a safe passage is what we strive to do for our adoptable dogs as we find them a new life with a loving family.
