Now through Saturday it’s The 41st Annual Newington Extravaganza with lots of activities for the whole family! From family tie-dye, to petting zoos, to hot air balloon rides - there is fun packed into each day! All getting ready for the incredible fireworks display Saturday night! ALL ABOARD! Saturday from 1 – 3pm and August 12, Sign me up for the Ice Cream Train! The Naugatuck Railroad is proud to bring back Connecticut Ice Cream Trains for the summer of 2023! Take a break from the summer heat and enjoy a 30-minute scenic train ride through the Naugatuck River Valley and over the Thomaston Dam. Cool off in one of our historic passenger cars with a large scoop of your favorite ice cream. Kids can enjoy an on-board scavenger hunt during the return journey. Visit rmne.org for tickets!
Saturday at Lake Compounce Country music star Canaan Smith will be performing live at the park starting at 7PM, join us at the beach and soak up the sounds from our floating lake stage. Concerts are free with park admission.
Also Saturday meet your new best friend at Dog Star Rescue at their Bloomfield CT headquarters! View all adoptable dogs at dogstarrescue.org and if interested in adopting fill out an application before you arrive so Dog Star Rescue can begin the screening process! The event will take place from 12PM-2PM
The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary is excited to announce their free event FOR THE LOVE OF HORSES on Saturday, July 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at 8 Commerce Road, Newtown CT. The sanctuary invites animal lovers and equine enthusiasts to join them in exploring the wonders of these incredible creatures and how to properly care for them.
