iHeartCommunities helps Birdies for Charity reach new fundraising goals! Every year since Birdies for Charity has been implemented with the Traveler's Championship, iHeartCommunities has offered media support both on air and on site. This year we are targeted to conduct 55 on site interviews!
This evolved into a media partnership that now offers interviews to all the charities taking part in this from April through end of play, this year on Sunday June 25th
Our new projected fundraising efforts is over $3 million! iHeartCommunities and Andy Bessett, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Travelers and Renee DiNino, Director of Community Affairs for iHeartMedia in Connecticut have the distinct honor of creating the Celebrity Mini Golf Tournament that additionally raises thousands of dollare for local charities as multiple media outlets compete against one another! This years winners were: Kenway's Cause Animal Shelter, Intercal House (Connecticut's largest domestic violence organization) and The Denis D'Ascenzo Foundation.
iHeartCommunities broadcasts daily at the tournament in a special booth, the only media outlet in the Fan Zone in partnership with the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. Our Birdies tent is presented by and sponsored by Webster Bank who match 15% of every dollar earned for participating charities! This is in support with Enterprise Car Rental.

In 2004, The Travelers Championship launched the Birdies for Charity program, adopting a national model that has seen great success in other markets. Today, the Birdies for Charity program continues to develop and thrive and has become an easy and effective fundraising opportunity for every 501(c)(3) organization. Birdies for Charity is a giving platform that utilizes the excitement around the Travelers Championship to help nonprofits across the region raise awareness and funds to support their missions. Thanks to the support of Webster Bank, organizations have the opportunity to receive a 15% bonus on every donation through the program.
