The unofficial kick to summer is this weekend! Memorial Day Weekend will see lots of gatherings and BBQ’s!!! But let us also remember Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember those who served our country!~ There are so many town celebrations including parades, I have a list on my Weekend Blog and of course EVERYONE is thrilled the Mystic Parade is back on!!!
The Mystic VFW, Stonington First Selectman Danielle, the police department and town got in touch with the DOT. Even though the deadline passed, the DOT reviewed the parade plan. And the over 100 year tradition will go on Monday at 2pm with a FREE BBQ afterwards! It kicks off at 2:00pm from Water Street. According to a post from the VFW –
Services will start at the VFW post around 3:15 with a memorial service led by Commander Landry and then a FREE chicken BBQ with, Burgers, Hotdogs, Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad, Clam Chowder and Clam fritters. Come join us if you can, we may be a bit smaller than originally planned but we shall. March On
"Veterans who wish to march or ride should be at the post no later than 12:45 for transport to the staging area.”

First up Disney’s The Little Mermaid is already in theaters, it opened Wednesday! All the way from the House of Mouse comes a new look at the live adaptation of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. actress/singer Halle Bailey stars as Ariel, along with Jonah Hauer-King’s Prince Eric. Javier Bardem as King Triton, Ursula’s is played by Melissa McCarthy – take a look!
And I love this movie About My Father - As a human race we really have only one thing in common with each other, and that is family. This movie brings together the best of both worlds when Sebastian (Sebastian Maniscalco) brings his hardworking Italian immigrant father Salvo (Robert de Niro) on a weekend get together with his wealthy and exceedingly eccentric future in-laws. Take a look!
