Earth Day 2023: Things to do across Connecticut!

New Exhibit at The Connecticut Science Center! Under the Canopy: Animals of the Rainforests!

Travel to the most diverse ecosystem on the planet at the Connecticut Science Center! Under the Canopy is an immersive and interactive exhibition introducing you to the fascinating world of rainforests. Learn about the rainforest’s unique plants and ecology as you encounter live animals that call these fantastic habitats home, including a sloth, boa constrictor, red-footed tortoise, and more. Uncover some of the biggest threats facing rainforests today through interactive discovery stations, dynamic displays, and engaging programming. Under the Canopy will leave you with knowledge and actions you can take—from choosing the best coffee to growing the right garden plants—to become an advocate for conservation and support healthier rainforest ecosystems.

Saturday at Mystic Aquarium:

Be one of one billion+ caring people around the world who celebrate the planet Earth in April. How? Come to Mystic Aquarium’s annual Party for the Planet! Visit with enjoy hands-on activities, environmentally themes crafts and games throughout the celebration and learn how to reduce your personal impact. Activities are included with Aquarium general admission. Event registration is not required.

Daffodil Days in Essex through April 23, 2023!

Thanks to the Essex Foundation’s community beautification project, the number of daffodil plantings waiting to blossom across Essex, Centerbrook, and Ivoryton villages are an invitation to celebrate Spring!

Make Essex your “daffodil destination!” Essex Board of Trade invites you for a day trip or weekend to enjoy this natural event, as well as our villages, as well as our shops, restaurants, galleries, architecture, and waterfront. In other words, Experience Essex!
