Meet Lester and Buttercup! These Two are Looking For a Loving Home!

Meet Lester:

Lester: Lester is a 5-year-old purebred Newfoundland that is good with all; dogs, cats, and people of all ages. He found himself in rescue due to family hardships, and we have promised to find him a furever home that’s just amazing as he is. If you’re looking for an amazing snuggle buddy, Lester just may be the dog for you. His goofiness and affection for his humans make his foster family smile throughout the day!

Meet Buttercup:

Buttercup: Buttercup is a 7-year-old purebred Newfoundland. Buttercup’s foster mama reports she is an amazing dog, loves attention, she is a lap dog, and a VELCRO princess. Anytime you look at her she thinks it means she needs pets and she will come over and bump your arm requesting it. Her stomach is super ticklish and her leg goes so fast when being tickled on the belly. She loves the snow, she is very playful, loves tug and her monkey toy. She carries her monkey around and suckles on it. She looks and acts younger than her age with no mobility concerns, she can do steps and get on and off furniture for couch cuddles. A clever treat motivated girl, Buttercup knows to sit, stay, down, shake & hide and seek. Foster mama is working on Buttercup’s leash manners and she is good until she sees something new and fun to visit and explore or people and animals to see. Buttercup is looking for a home where she can be your one and only (no other dogs or cats) but she loves her people.

All of these dogs, and many more, are available through National Newfoundland Rescue, a CT-based rescue organization that has over 40 Newfoundland and Newfoundland Mix dogs in foster care across the country.

About National Newfoundland Rescue Inc:

National Newfoundland Rescue Inc. was founded by a group of Newfoundland Rescue volunteers with a combined total of over 60 years of rescue experience. After working with breed club and other rescues for many years, it became apparent that there were still holes in the rescue community that needed to be filled, primarily in the areas where they don’t have a local Breed Club Rescue, or in cases where there is a Newfoundland Mix in need (most of the regional clubs only accept purebred Newfoundlands). With this in mind, National Newfoundland Rescue was born!
