Calling all German Shepherd lovers......Meet Max!! Or Max 2.0 as we like to call him. Max is one amazing, happy pup with a charming personality and stunning features! Max loves the ladies and can be a little unsure of men at first, but is quick to warm up and once he does all he wants to do is play, play, play! This guy loves any type of toy he can get his paws on!!
Max will need a home with prior German Shepherd experience or similar working breed experience. Max can be a little mouthy when he gets excited as even at 2 years old, he still has quite a bit of puppy energy. This guy loves to be the center of attention and just loves affection! Max would do best in a home with older children as he can be a little jumpy and play mouthy when he gets excited. No other animals for this guy, he wants to be your one and only! Another thing about Max is he is very strong, so we are seeking a home preferably with a fenced-in yard, and an adopter with strong handling experience.
Max is UTD, neutered, and microchipped.

Introducing Miss Grace!! This beautiful girl was a rescue transfer from one of our partnering animal control facilities and MHS couldn't be more thrilled to welcome her to our family!
Grace is an absolute sweetheart who loves her new lease on life and has adjusted quite well to being part of our pack! Grace has a newfound love of tennis balls, jerky treats, and running around in our play area getting all her zoomies out.
In true Corso style this lady's job is to protect her people, so while Grace may be a little apprehensive of new people at first, some treats, throwing tennis balls, and some reassurance from her team that she can be off duty, Grace's sweet and goofy personality will quickly come out.
We are requiring adopters with prior Cane Corso or similar breed experience. Grace bonds to her people quickly and just wants to play and get all their love and affection.
Grace will be spayed, microchipped, and brought UTD on her vaccinations.
Grace will be dog and cat tested soon.

Meet Layla:

This lovely 2 1/2 year old lady has been here at our shelter for over 450 days, half of her life, and has been looking for a place to call home ever since. She doesn't understand why no one seems to want to provide her the home she deserves.
Layla considers herself a lap dog that wants nothing but to be laying next to you and enjoying your attention or playing ball with you outside. Layla also LOVES water! Although, she loves her people so much more that she doesn't quite enjoy sharing and may not like the other furry pets that might try to take you away, so its important that this girl is your one and only. But with the amount of love she has to give, she's all you'll ever need!
This girl is also so smart that she'll know you'll want her to sit even before you ask. With an extremely treat motivated pup like Layla, teaching her your routine will be easy-peezy.
Layla is very particular about where she does her business and needs a little guidance on her potty training, and can also have some separation anxiety when her people aren't around, so it's important to find her a family that is willing to take the time and commitment to continue her training.
She can have a lot of happy puppy energy and doesn't quite understand her size compared to smaller humans, therefore she would be best suited for older children.
If you're interested in adopting or fostering this pretty lady, please fill out an application here!
Layla is UTD on her shots, spayed, and microchipped.
About Meriden Humane Society:
Founded in 1893, the Meriden Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter and rescue facility. Many of our animals are taken from high risk situations or surrendered by private citizens who are no longer able to care for their animals.
Our organization is privately run and operated. We are supported by patrons and residents who donate to our facility. Contrary to popular belief, we are not affiliated with the Connecticut Humane Society. Without the help we receive from the citizens of our community and surrounding communities, we would not be able to save all the animals that we do.
