In a statement released on Facebook, the Chowder Pot of Hartford will close its doors in the upcoming months.
They stated "This building originally opened in 1965 as Valle's Steakhouse. It was then the Hilltop Steakhouse before being sold again and reopening as the USS Chowder Pot IV in 1994."
It continued explaining, "Due to the age, size, and constant amount of work needed to maintain this big old building combined with a new business wanting to make this property their home we have decided the right decision is to sell at this time. Where we go next we have not yet decided.
