Bristol, CT: Funeral Information for Fallen Police Officers Updated 10/20

Funeral arrangements were made for Officer Alex Hamzy and Sergeant Dustin DeMonte.

State police say Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte were lured to a home on Redstone Hill last week on a fake domestic violence call between two brothers.

Hamzy and DeMonte were then shot and killed in an ambush, police say.

Sergeant Demonte was a 10-year veteran of the Bristol Police Department while Officer Hamzy was an 8-year veteran.

Walk through calling hours will be held Wednesday October 19, 2022 from 12 PM to 8 PM at the Lyceum 181 Main St, Terryville, for Officer Alex Hamzy.

The combined service is set for October 21 at 11:00 am. The service will be held at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.

HOW TO HELP: Funds set up for families of Alex Hamzy and Dustin DeMonte

The Bristol Police Heroes fund was set up by the Bristol Police Union. Donations can be made at any branch of the Thomaston Savings Bank, or by clicking here.

Bristol Police say donations can also be made to a Fund the First fundraiser which could be found here.
