During extreme inclement weather shelters across the state will be coordinating with 2-1-1 to help those in need of help. Please check on your neighbors and animals.

A Wind Advisory today with some spotty outages possible. Stormy weather coming through with strong gusty winds & heavy downpours as a cold front crosses the state. Dry, windy and chilly conditions tomorrow and quiet Friday. Windy with rain and mild temperatures returning Saturday.

Today: Cloudy with spotty drizzle in the morning with a steadier rain arriving 11AM-1PM. A period of heavy rain mid afternoon through early evening with thunder possible. Very windy for the afternoon and early evening with gusts 40-50MPH and mild with middle to upper 50s. Rain will end 6-8PM.

United Way 2-1-1 is Connecticut’s statewide phone number, 24 hour, information and referral service.

If warranted: A list of shelters that are open across Connecticut can be located by calling 2-1-1 or visiting www.211ct.org.

You can also search the 2-1-1 database for homeless drop-in centers that can be visited during the day. And to find a homeless shelter in your area, please dial 2-1-1 or search the 2-1-1 database for listings of shelters.
