Foo Fighters Fans – they are taking over the world – now their much-anticipated movie is in theaters Studio 666 -the legendary rock band move into an Encino mansion steeped in grisly rock and roll history to record their much anticipated 10th album. Once in the house, Dave Grohl finds himself grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band.

Saturday take the plunge for Special Olympics CT at the Middletown Penguin Plunge Participants in the Plunge will jump into the chilly waters to support Special Olympics' year-round programs of inclusion! Taking place at the Polish Falcons Nest #519, 144 Prout Hill Road, Middletown – starting at 10am~More than 100 participants are expected to Plunge. The Middletown Penguin Plunge is the first in a series of Penguin Plunges to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut. Visit soct.org for more info!

25th Annual Old Saybrook Chili Fest  is back! Come to Old Saybrook Saturday. Sample a variety of chili recipes and vote for your favorite as teams compete for the top honor of “Best Chili.” Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased at Ballot Stations along Main Street and at the Chamber Office, 1 Main Street. Tickets will also be available online. Organized by the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank. Event proceeds help fund the Chamber Scholarship program, which awards scholarships to the area, high school seniors. Chili Fest is held rain, snow, or shine.
