Connecticut Energy Assistance Program

If you are finding it difficult to afford your winter heating bills, the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) may be able to help.

What Is CEAP?

CEAP's mission is to help low-income renters and homeowners pay their winter heating bills.

What Does CEAP Pay For?

CEAP helps households who rely on different heating sources such as:

  • oil
  • natural gas
  • electricity
  • propane
  • kerosene
  • coal
  • wood
  • wood pellets

The program offers financial assistance to help pay for the cost of these heating sources.

Who Qualifies?

CEAP assists renters and homeowners whose income falls at or below 60% of the state's median income. The program also considers the number of people living within a home (i.e. household size).
