What’s Cooking This Christmas, According to Instacart

When you forget something while holiday grocery shopping, sometimes it’s too much of a hassle to go back to the packed stores and parking lots. That’s when grocery delivery is a life saver! Instacart’s 2025 Christmas report analyzed the top ordering trends from last year to find the most popular foods in last-minute Christmas orders. 

These are the most ordered holiday groceries, according to Instacart: 

  • Meaty mains take over the holiday table with glazed ham and flashier cuts of meat. Orders for ribeye roasts and prime rib peaked in the two days before the holiday last year, and on Christmas Day itself, ribeye roast orders peaked at 1,687%. 
  • Think eggnog isn’t as popular as it used to be? Think again, as orders of eggnog were up by 1,244% on Christmas Eve last year. New England shoppers ordered the most, and Floridians ordered the least, 62% below the national average.

  2. Prime Rib (up 1909%) 
  3. Corn Husks (up 1724%) 
  4. Fruitcake (up 986%) 
  5. Tenderloin Roasts (up 898%) 
  6. Gingerbread Cookies (up 790%) 
  7. Icing (up 740%) 
  8. Horseradish Sauce (up 595%) 
  9. Dried Anise (up 438%) 
  10. Canned Shrimp (up 411%)
