The Hilarious Reality of Texting with Teenagers

Texting may be teens’ preferred method of communication with parents, but you never know what they’re going to send. You might text your kid a heartfelt “I love you” and only get back a short “k.” But other times, you may receive a text so bewildering that it leaves you concerned for the future of the country.

Chip Leighton, a dad of two, shares the surprising and hilarious text messages he gets from his 17- and 21-year-old kids. He entertains his TikTok followers with the hilarious and often head-scratching messages that he and his followers receive from their offspring.

Here are some of the recent texts his kids have sent that will certainly give you a laugh.

  • How did you know it was someone’s birthday before social media?
  • Can I bring my coffee into a funeral?
