Who would've thought that AC/DC songs could literally save lives? Scientists are blasting AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” from drones to scare away wolves and save the lives of cattle.
In 2022, gray wolves killed over 800 domesticated animals across 10 states. Ranchers have tried to protect their livestock with electric fences, wolf alarms, guard dogs, horseback patrols, and trapping and relocating. But, until now, they have never used rock and roll to protect the ranch.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture found techniques to use drones at night to blast music, gunshots, fireworks, and human voices through a loudspeaker to scare the wolves away.
Wolves fear new things – and right now, AC/DC’s hard rock screams and guitar riffs are scaring the wolves away and saving the lives of cattle.
