As students go back to school, it may feel like summer is over for most families. While some people are already drinking pumpkin spiced lattes and decorating for fall, others want to soak up the summer season for as long as possible. So, if you’re looking to make the end of summer feel extra special, here’s a list of easy-to-execute family activities to make the most of the season.
- Go to a county fair: As you play games, go on rides, and eat all the tasty fair food, everyone in the family is guaranteed to have a smile on their face.
- Make a time capsule of the summer: Reminisce on your family's summer memories by locking up some precious items in a time capsule. Decorate a shoe box and fill it with items that remind you of this summer. Maybe even include written letters reflecting on everyone's favorite summer moments. A few years in the future, you can look back at this time capsule and find special moments from this summer.
- Visit a beach or pool: There are still a few hot summer days to soak up before the cold weather returns. Go to a local pool or beach and spend one last day swimming in the sun. If you can’t make it to the beach, have a fun water fight at home with a hose, sprinkler, or water blasters.
