A recent study shared by the New York Post says certain foods can potentially reverse aging! Researchers found that eating plant-based foods rich in methyl adaptogens may help slow biological aging by influencing how your genes function.
The study followed 43 healthy middle-aged men who stuck to a plant-heavy, nutrient-rich diet while also prioritizing sleep, stress management, and movement. The result was those who ate more of these foods saw a greater drop in biological age (which is the age of your cells). If you're looking to try it, load up on dark leafy greens, colorful veggies, seeds, beets, and fruits. Plus, daily servings of:
- 1/2 cup berries
- 1/2 tsp turmeric or rosemary
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 cups of green tea or 3 cups oolong tea
More research is needed, but it's a promising look into the power of food and lifestyle.
