Sunday, May 18th, 2025, join Allison Demers for the Beauty of Courage Pageant at the Heritage Hotel and Spa in Southbury, CT. The pageant highlights the strength, resilience, and beauty of women who have faced cancer, giving them a chance to walk the runway, share their journeys, and be recognized for their courage. This event will also raise funds for the American Cancer's Society Relay for Life of Greater Waterbury.
Pageant founders Kimberly, a cancer survivor, and her sister Donna recently joined us for an interview on Community Access to share their story behind the event. Inspired by Kimberly's own journey, they created the pageant to uplift women currently undergoing treatment, as well as survivors to show that beauty comes from strength and resilience. After Kimberly's battle with cancer, she was moved by the emotional and physical toll the disease takes, especially on women's sense of self. They wanted to create something that would not only honor survivors but also restore confidence, joy, and a sense of sisterhood.
