Meet the CT Humane Society's Adoptable Pet of the Week: Roo

This Week's Pet of the Week is Roo!

Roo is a two-year-old guinea pig with the sweetest personality! The CHS team adores him, describing him as the perfect companion thanks to his calm and friendly nature.

Roo can thrive in almost any home and would do well with another male guinea pig. Since he is not neutered, he'll need a home where he can be kept separate from female guinea pigs. His gentle and easygoing personality makes him an excellent choice, especially for first-time pet owners!

Guinea pigs like Roo are popular pets for a reason, they're curious, docile, and gentle. These curious critters enjoy exploring familiar territory, and when bonded with their owners, may even respond to the sound of their voice! Like all guinea pigs, Roo needs a vitamin C-rich diet that includes plenty of fresh vegetables! With proper care, these lovable pets can live six to eight years and make fantastic furry friends!

If you're interested in adopting Roo, he's available in Newington. You can also listen to Community Access' interview with the Humane Society to learn more about him! The Newington location is operating on appointment-only schedule, so be sure to start your application at CThumane.org/adopt.

CHS is an independent nonprofit organization with locations in Newington, Waterford, and Westport. Their work is made possible 100% through the generosity of donors.
