End-of-Fall Activities

Every year, the holiday season creeps up earlier and earlier. Holiday decor hits the shelves in September, and Christmas music plays throughout the stores. But you don’t have to ditch the fall fashion and all things pumpkin as soon as October ends. Try these activities to enjoy the slow, cozy fall feelings before the holiday season arrives.

  • Rewatch your favorite fall TV episodes: Your favorite comfort shows can keep you in the cozy fall vibes. Turn on your favorite Thanksgiving episodes and enjoy.
  • Watch some football: Even if you’re not a fan of the sport, enjoy some game-day snacks, put on a game-day outfit, and enjoy some football with friends and family.
  • Paint some pumpkins: Even though Halloween has passed, don’t do away with pumpkins. Get some pumpkins and have a pumpkin painting night.
  • Plan a Friendsgiving potluck: Friendsgiving is the best excuse to get together with your friends before the holiday season. Ask everyone to bring a dish and enjoy some good food and good company.
  • Spend a whole afternoon at a coffee shop: Grab a table at your favorite coffee shop, order a warm beverage, and dive into a good book.
  • Have a fall movie night: Have a fall movie night. Anything with Meg Ryan has the perfect fall feeling, along with feel-good movies such as The Proposal, Matilda, and Little Women.
  • Wear your coziest fall outfit: Before it gets too cold, embrace fall fashion with cable-knit sweaters, comfy clogs, and cozy shackets.
  • Go hiking: Late fall is often prime time for colorful leaves. A hike through crunchy leaves is a perfect fall afternoon.
  • Cook or bake with seasonal produce: Make something cozy and warm before fall ends. Soups, pasta dishes, casseroles, and baked goods are great fall options.
  • Make a fall wreath: It can be simple. Just grab some fall foliage, grass, and flowers, and secure them to a wreath form.
