FOSTER home needed to foster or adopt “special” new Kenways dog Kibbe.
Found as a stray in Hartford, he was taken to the vet immediately because it was apparent something was wrong as he was twitching and seemed disoriented.
The vet was concerned about drug ingestion and recommended a drug test. He tested positive for THC (marijuana). Once the drugs wore off, his disorientation improved but his mild twitching stayed the same. The vet believes he has a mild case of “vestibular disease”.
Vestibular disease in dogs is basically a sudden disturbance in balance.
His symptoms currently are mild, and include: twitching and rapid eye movement.
The team will continue to monitor his condition.
He is on some oral medication which he will continue on for several weeks. It’s unknown if his meds will be long term.
Kibbe is a chihuahua mix, male (to be neutered), approximately 5 years old and approximately 10lbs.
He loves all people. Loves to be held or curl up in your lap.
He has a vigorous appetite, loves his fluffy dog bed, enjoys walks and is good with dogs he met.
He’s a happy boy and fairly mellow.
