Fernando is a 9 month old Australian Shepherd mix weighing around 56 pounds. He is young and certainly has some growing to do so it is estimated that he will be around the 65 pounds range. It is certainly hard to guess the full grown weight but what isn't a guess but rather a sure thing is that Fernando is one super sweet boy. He will need an owner that can commit the time, energy and patience to help him grow from an adorable puppy to a confident and happy canine companion. Socialization is very important and Fernando has a head start on that since he gets along well with other dogs and kids. He has not had the opportunity to be introduced to a cat.
Fernando is ready to mix it up with other dogs and kids to make a day of play and chase. That would be followed by some snuggle time before getting his second wind to start the play all over again. Fernando has his goals in sight and those goals are his house, crate and leash training. He is working on them and will need his family to assist him in making him a pro. With his crate training, he will need to be exercised and given the opportunity for potty breaks prior to being in his crate. He is young and will need to be crated for short amounts of time and should work up to around 4 hours of crate time if proper attention is given to him ahead of time.
Leash training is also important and short walks will benefit him at his young age. A puppy's growth plate doesn't close on average of a year so he will need to wait to be a running partner. Fernando is a sweet, lovable little boy who is full of potential to be a great canine companion. He will keep his family on their toes but it will be worth all the effort. Fernando will have infinite love for his family as they will for him.
