The story of Zeke and Galaxy

Zeke likes other cats, and I mean really likes them. He wants to play with them and cuddle with them and be right up next to them. Turns out Zeke is not great at reading other cats' cues. Some cats like Zeke and some do not. Zeke does not care. He wants to be besties with everyone and tries to be close to any cat he meets.

Enter Galaxy. Galaxy is a young mom cat who came to POA with her four newborn kittens. Galaxy was a great mom to her babies, but also acted like a kitten much of the time herself. Galaxy loves toys, especially wand toys. She will sit up on her hind legs for forever batting at the toys. She also loves the laser light and will run and jump around trying to catch it. Galaxy can be picked up and carried around (doesn't love it but tolerates it).

When it came time for Galaxy to wean her kittens, she moved into the foster room with Zeke. They instantly hit it off. Galaxy welcomes the rubs from Zeke and rubs right back. They like to play tag. One will run over and tap the other, and then the chase is on. They like playing with toys and stealing them from each other. They love sitting in a window watching birds and cuddling.

Zeke and Galaxy will need an adopter with patience. Transitions will be difficult for them and they will not instantly trust. They will need to be kept in one room for weeks if not longer in order for the adopter to be able to work with them. They will need someone who will respect their space, but not let them live under the sofa. They can be bribed to interact with people through toys (especially wand toys or the laser light so they can play at a distance) or through treats (but not too many because Zeke is already a big boy).

Zeke and Galaxy are both sweet and loving cats. They will be a challenge, but well worth the work for the right person or family.
