Fi Collars founded by Jonathan Bensamoun and inspired by his magnificent German Shepherd Thor, (pictured), chat with iHeartCommunities.
LTE-M network
Fi is the first tracking collar to use the LTE-M cellular network to communicate GPS information.
LTE-M is a new technology for low power, long distances communications. LTE-M signal reaches about 30% farther than 3G/4G/5G/LTE networks.
- Impact: Aside from gracing the cover of People Magazine with Jimmy Fallon, Fi has made headlines through heartwarming stories of pups reunited with owners nationwide, from a deaf dog dad and his deaf dog near Chicago to a husky that had the collar catch a bullet for her outside of Salt Lake City.
- Fi’s Community Programs:
- Rescues: We work with and donate collars to hundreds of rescues nationwide to protect flight-risk pups from getting out both in foster and at their forever homes. Example: https://bfp.org/fi/
- Fi Nano: While Europe generally has mandatory microchipping, it’s completely underdeveloped in the U.S.: Only 5% of dogs in the U.S. are microchipped. With the Fi Nano, we are manufacturing chips and donating many to shelters, vets, and rescues. More via Gizmodo.
- Makers: In August 2020, we launched our Fi Makers program to partner with small businesses nationwide and provide additional band options. Nothing makes us happier than hearing about the growth and opportunities that Fi provides for these small businesses. One shop owner from Massachusetts told us she saw a 30% boost to the business when she signed up with Fi during the COVID pandemic.
