Dozens of supporters committed to making a difference in the lives of veterans will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks next month by taking to the skies at the 6th Annual Skydive for Veterans Freedom Jump 2021 charity event benefitting House of Heroes Connecticut and Work Vessels for Vets.

The daylong event begins at 9 a.m., weather permitting, at the Connecticut Parachutists, Inc. skydiving center in Ellington.

The unique event, the only veterans charity skydiving event in the state, first took place in 2016 thanks to a group of Connecticut shoreline friends who banded together after a similar event they had taken part in on Long Island was discontinued. Since its founding, the event has raised more than $50,000 for the two causes.

Registrants are encouraged to secure individual donations or sponsors in support of their jumps. The expert team from Connecticut Parachutists, Inc. ensures a safe and thrilling experience for every participant, regardless of experience level. Participants who raise $500 jump for free. Registrants will be supplied by e-mail with fundraising sheets and a flyer to promote their sponsors. Registration deadline is August 28. For complete details and to register, visit www.skydiveforveterans.org and click on the Freedom Jump 2021 link.
